President Donald Trump sharply criticized Representative Thomas Massie, calling him “worse” than other former Republican lawmakers who have faced his criticism.
“I predict that “Representative” Thomas Massie will go down as the WORST Republican Congressman in the long and fabled history of the United States Congress, even worse than Crazy Liz Chaney, Cryin’ Adam Kinzinger, and Marjorie “Traitor” Brown (Remember, Green turns to Brown under stress!),” the president posted to Truth Social on Wednesday.
“They are all misfits and losers, but Massie, who is running against a great American Patriot in the Kentucky Primary, will hopefully lose BIG,” he added.
In response to Trump’s post, Massie (R-Ky.) switched topics, focusing to the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
“I predict “President” DJT will begrudgingly sign my beautiful Epstein Files Transparency Act, causing beleaguered princes and ambassadors and prime ministers and CEOs around the world to be arrested or resin in total shame. Oh wait, that already happened,” Massie said.

Trump spoke in Hebron, Kentucky, located in Massie’s district, on Wednesday. Ed Gallrein, who is challenging Massie in the May primary, said Trump visited the district to show his support for Gallrein’s congressional campaign.
“VOTE FOR ED GALLREIN, A MAN WHO HAS MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT. HE IS A TRUE AMERICAN HERO!” Trump said in a separate Wednesday post, reiterating his previous endorsement of the candidate.

Massie has not been a reliable Republican vote for GOP leaders on key issues. In alignment with the party majority, he voted in favor of passing the March 5th bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). However, he sponsored the War Powers Resolution and was one of only two Republicans to vote in favor of it.
Massie also voted ‘no’ on the final passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), noting in an X post then that “although there were some conservative wins,” it would negatively impact “all Americans through sustained inflation and high interest rates.”
Despite criticism from Trump and lack of support from GOP leaders, Massie is backed by Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.).
Massie has repeatedly attacked Gallrein on X, especially criticizing his party affiliation history. Massie alleged that Gallrein registered as Independent in 2016 right after Trump won the Republican nomination. In 2021, Gallrein registered again as a Republican, according to a political ad posted to Massie’s account.
“Ed wants you to believe he is “Republican. Full Stop.” The truth: He abandoned President Trump and left the Republican Party in disgust just days after @realdonaldtrump won the nomination in 2016,” Massie posted to X on Tuesday.
In a statement, Gallrein said he was proud to have voted for Trump in all three elections, according to Fox News Digital.
Trump addressed Massie’s attack against Gallrein about him becoming an Independent for a while.
“The fact is, many people do that, but Ed still supported me, and strongly, which is far more than Massie ever did, or does,” Trump said.
