‘It is an important issue to know for certain that your soul is secure and will spend eternity in the presence of God’

PALM BEACH, Florida – As millions of Christians and Jews prepare this week to observe Passover and the resurrection of Jesus, President Donald Trump on Sunday shared a letter he received from Christian evangelist Franklin Graham revealing the “only way” to get to heaven.
The letter was dated Oct. 15, 2025, and came just days after Trump had voiced personal doubts about being awarded eternal life in heaven.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, the president had said: “I think I’m not, maybe, heaven-bound. I may be in heaven right now as we fly in Air Force One.”
He added: “I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to make heaven. But I’ve made life better for a lot of people.”

“I don’t think there’s anything that’s gonna get me in heaven. I really don’t. I think I’m not, maybe, heaven-bound.”

As WorldNetDaily reported, Trump last August also mentioned heaven in his desire to end the Russia-Ukraine war, saying: “If I can save 7,000 people a week from being killed, I think that’s a pretty – I want to try to get to heaven if possible. I hear I’m not doing well. I hear I’m really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”

On Sunday morning, Trump shared the contents of the letter he had received from Graham, the son of the legendary evangelist Billy Graham.
Franklin Graham told Trump in his missive: “This week you commented to the media that you might not be heaven bound. Maybe you responded in jest, but it is an important issue to know for certain that your soul is secure and will spend eternity in the presence of God.
“The only One who can save us from Hell is Jesus Christ. You can’t save yourself; I can’t save myself. Good works, prominence, success – none of these get us to Heaven. The only way to Heaven is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
“God requires us to turn from our sins and, by faith, believe in our heart that Jesus came to earth, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and God raised Him to life on the third day. If you accept that by faith and invite Him to come into your heart, you ARE heaven bound, I promise you.
“The Bible says, ‘if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved’ (Romans 10:9).”
“You continue to be in our prayers.”
Is faith in Jesus and abandoning one’s sins the only way to eternal life with God?
During the 2024 presidential campaign, Franklin Graham tried to get Trump to clean up his use of “foul language,” as WorldNetDaily reported.
In a clip posted on X from a June rally in Philadelphia, Trump said Graham is a “man I like,” and recounted:
“He said, ‘President, I love your speaking. Your ability to speak is incredible. Your storytelling is great, but it could be so much better if you didn’t use foul language.'”
But Trump noted, “Actually, he’s wrong.”
“The problem, if you don’t interject every once in a while … you don’t get the emphasis but it’s OK.”
“When I see people start to walk out, then we’ll stop.”
“I’m not going to use the word bull****” Trump concluded, voicing the full term without censoring himself, adding “it’s not that bad a word.”
